This one year part-time course covers the necessary first steps towards a career as a therapist.

It is also a valuable course in its own right for improving communication and listening skills whether in the work place or in a social environment.

This course is delivered by SCOTACS within a centre which has a busy therapeutic practice. Tutors who deliver the training are all experienced counselling practitioners who speak from personal knowledge and experience. It is also enhanced by the presence of diploma level students who join the groups to provide additional support and feedback.

About the Course

Each module takes place on one evening per week from 6pm - 9pm for 10 weeks. Please see our calendar for course dates.

The cost per module is £250. Payment can be made either in full prior to term start or in weekly/monthly installments.

The course is COSCA validated and has a SCQF credit level 7. On successful completion of the course, you will receive your SCQF award and COSCA registration. Graduation is in November of each year.
