| Supervision |
![]() This support is often clinical in nature when assistance in assessing and making sense (e.g. formulating) of the client's difficulties can benefit from shared insights and discussions between supervisor and supervisee. Education is also an important element, when therapists and counsellors encounter new or unusual elements in their work and benefit from the wider knowledge and experience of more experienced practitioners. The sharing of the emotional impact of our work in supervision enables us to gain perspective on the ways in which the interpersonal dynamic between our client and us impacts on the therapeutic relationship Supervision can also aid maintaining a personal balance as a support for intrapersonal stability in the therapist. This then enables therapists in the provision of the interpersonal stability, which is crucial in the maintenance of a strong therapeutic alliance. |
