A TWO-DAY CPD COURSE

Guillermo has been a qualified holistic psychotherapist for 16 years. In this time, he has undergone considerable personal self-development and has successfully completed several Diplomas. During his time as a therapist he has done extensive work with the LGBTQ+ community, the Terence Higgins Trust and also within the sexual health sector in general, specialising in Transgender issues, HIV and the impact this has on the individual as well as on society.

Guillermo is a COSCA Accredited Trainer who also delivers training in Sexual Health, Personal Development Training and Communications.

One of his Diplomas is in Relationship Counselling enabling him to work closely with individuals and couples on relationship and sexual issues.

Sex and Sexual Awareness is a two-day CPD course with the following aims:

• To provide an understanding and awareness of sex, what sex is, where our understanding and assumptions come from and some of the myths surrounding sex, including sexual history and the Law.
• To consider sexuality, looking at the difference between gender, sexuality and the impact on mental health and wellbeing.
• To provide an overview of sexual health, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) and look at signposting for better sexual health.
• To explore sexual awareness in terms of issues such as LGBTQ+, BDSM and Individuals 'Coming Out'.
• To consider sex and counselling and look at issues which might arise in the counselling room relating to sex within relationships and individuals.

Overall this CPD event aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of sex and intimacy and to
identify areas of interest for more detailed exploration for both students and clinicians.

Over the 2-day event we will look at:

• The history of sex
• Sexuality
• Sex and intimacy
• Sex and mental health
• Sexual health of yourself and others
• Sexual awareness
• Sex and counselling

The course will conclude with a summary and feedback, further reading and references from which to extend your knowledge in this important subject.

The full cost for both days is £150.00 for Centre of Therapy members and £170.00 for non-members. Lunch is included with this event.

The event will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February 2019 at the Centre of Therapy. The course starts at 9.00am till 4.00pm and each participant will receive an attendance certificate of 7 hours each day/14 hours in total. All participants are required to attend both days. Should you need to cancel your place, a refund can only be given if notification of cancellation is received no less than 72 hours before the date of the event.
