CBT Diploma Level 10

The Centre of Therapy has offered CBT training for three decades.

Our diplomas are delivered over a period of two years, 40 weeks in each year, beginning in September and finishing in June. This includes an annual summer break during the months of July and August.

The Level 10 CBT Diplomas provide full professional training which enables our students to graduate as fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists at the end of the two years. They achieve all the specified training requirements for accreditation with COSCA and BACP.

Practical training is emphasised. Students must complete 100 hours of clinically supervised professional CBT practice during the course. These practice hours will be accumulated through placement with a recognised counselling organisation.

The 100 practice hours can be split between 80 hours of one-to-one work and 20 hours of groupwork, or 70 hours of one-to-one work and 30 hours of groupwork.

To support students in their practice and ensure their continuing fitness to practise, they must receive regular professional clinical supervision. The management and allocation of qualified clinical supervisors is covered by the Centre of Therapy as is the provision of group supervision. The further cost of the required 20 hours of one-to-one clinical supervision is shared equally between each student and the Centre.

At the Centre of Therapy and Counselling Studies we continually evaluate research in psychotherapy, and specifically CBT, to ensure that our courses remain current and relevant.
